We’ve crossed the quarter century of special editions, and as always the latest addition to this elite club is another corker!
People often contact us to ask if we’ve a list of the special editions that we’ve produced and the honest answer is no, we don’t. (There might be some clues in Ron’s loft, but we’re not brave enough to venture up there). The fact is that the early specials were created because we wanted to give our customers something different, I don’t think that any of us imagined that they’d prove so popular or that we’d still be producing them a decade after the last new machine left our showroom, but yet we are and we’re proud to do so.
As one of the UK’s largest vespa dealers we get a lot of scooters offered to us, both in part exchange and to buy outright. Of those offered, whatever their age, we only put the best back onto the showroom floor and when it comes to the PX, the best of those goes into storage, waiting for the day when they’ll emerge as a special edition. As we’re very picky, the amount of machines we have in the queue is gradually reducing, meaning that the number of special editions is now limited, and we’re trying to do something special with every single of of them.
Super Sport
For edition 252 we’ve taken a one owner from new, black metallic PX125; supercharged the motor and added a few refinements to give it the ride that a discerning owner deserves.
First up the engine:
- Complete engine upgrade with BGM Crankshaft, new main bearings and Vitron ethanol resistant seals
- Pinasco 177cc GranTurismo cylinder kit
- Upgraded BGM Clutch Assembly with 23 tooth drive, Pinasco clutch cover
- BGM 24mm Fast Flow Carburettor and Fuel Tap
- Polini Sports Exhaust
This is a combination that’s been chosen to work and gives performance very close to that of a 200cc machine.

Matching this performance are upgrades to wheels, brakes and tyres. All of them being vital to ensure this special reaches its potential.

Worry free warranty
As with all our specials, 252 has been subjected to a full overhaul, with any worn or defective parts being replaced as necessary. So confident are we in the quality of this rebuild that 252 comes with a 12 month parts and labour warranty.
