With 54 world titles to its name, when comes to motorsport Aprilia knows a thing or two.
This year, for the second consecutive season, Marco Bezzecchi, who placed third in the 2025 Riders’ World Championship, and Jorge Martín, the 2024 World Champion, will defend the Italian team’s colours in the MotoGP World Championship.

Their steed will be the evolved Aprilia RS-GP26, and their mission is to surpass the results achieved in 2025, the most successful season in the history of Aprilia Racing. However, not all of the action action takes place on the track, in the pits there’s the need for reliable, nippy and stylish transport for riders and mechanics alike.
For 2026 their chosen machine is a bright red SXR 50, in fact this very machine- KP26 XHF. One day, after its campaign work is completed, it’ll become a piece of motorsport memorabilia but right now its freshly registered and with delivery mileage on the clock, what better example could there be to take for a test ride?

GP looks, practical engineering
No self respecting Moto GP team will be seen using equipment that doesn’t pass the ‘cool’ test. Like its larger sibling the SRGT 125, and a new addition to the family the SRGT 400, Aprilia’s entry level machine is designed to thrill- even when standing still.

From the front a casual observer could be forgiven for thinking that their looking at a superbike and from the rear the SXR appears to be going fast even when standing still. There’s an under-seat bucket to hold riding essentials; even a jet helmet will fit under there with ease, and the digital dash provides all the necessary information in an easy to read format. Carbon look panels add another sporting element to the design and the smoked screen aids aerodynamic performance whilst keeping the weather at bay.

The 49cc i-get engine has proven reliability and isn't too lazy at bringing the SXR up to running speed. Out on the road there’s more than enough torque to keep things moving, and as peak power’s delivered at around 7,000rpm the engine’s capable of absorbing pretty much anything the average rider can throw at it- with plenty left in reserve.

Even for taller riders the riding position’s comfortable, whilst more enthusiastic riders will discover that the open floor space offers plenty of opportunity to shift balance. It may not quite make it onto a GP circuit but there’s plenty of scope to enjoy a few twisties, with the 220mm front disc brake providing plenty of stopping power should it be needed.

Polini ‘ped
In contrast to other, cheaper, mopeds in the category the SXR’s build quality is apparent from the outset, in fact this is a machine that’ll still be delivering performance when many others have long since entered the local breaker’s yard. With the very real potential for a long term relationship, we’re very proud to offer a range of tuning parts designed by the Italian tuning house Polini, specifically for the SXR. With this package it’s possible to develop the SXR as your licence entitlement grows, or commuting needs change, making the SXR a sound investment, as well as an exciting choice.
